Arlene Huseby

arlene huseby
Arlene Huseby, age 82 of Fargo, ND, passed away on Sunday, July 30 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo. Arlene, the daughter of Clifford and Ruth (Kvamme) Huseby, was born in Clay County, MN on November 14, 1934. As a young girl, she attended rural school District #14 near her home and then high school at Pelican Rapids where she graduated with the class of 1952. She began her career at New York Life Insurance Co. in Fargo in 1952. Arlene then joined Eide Helmeke (later Eide Bailly) Accounting Firm where she enjoyed a long and happy tenure. She started there as a secretary on June 1, 1959, and retired as an office manager on April 30, 2012. Arlene was an avid photographer, and her beautiful photos grace several family members' and public walls. She loved to travel and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Arlene also loved playing games, and frustrated many opponents with her singular ability to win at "Aggravation." Arlene was also known to have a fondness for playing the slots, and wasn't too bad at winning either. As a voracious reader, it was difficult to find her new reading material! Crosswords and morning coffee with friends were daily pastimes. Her regular appearances at Divots, Josie's, McDonald's, Fryin' Pan, and The Shack will be missed, as will the sightings of her personalized license plate that read "FOTOFAN." Arlene was candid, vivacious, clever, big-hearted, and her spirit incomparable. She never compromised on her principals and never did anything she didn't want to do. She was always true to herself and tough to the end. Arlene is survived by her brother, David (Patricia) Huseby and sister Carol (Charles) Rice, sister-in-law Shirley Ralston, 12 nieces and nephews, 25 great nieces and nephews and many friends who will all miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Ruth, a twin brother Arvid, brother Roland, sister Ramona, and brother-in-law Duane Bissonnette. There will be a Celebration of Life for Arlene at Eide Bailly on Saturday, August 12th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. 4310 17th Avenue South, Fargo, ND 58103

  1. Savoring my memories of Arlene that are more precious than ever. You & Dale had such dear stories to share these last few years that I was privileged to hear and laugh about as well. My heart is heavy, but also soothed by the experience of knowing you for as long as it was to be. Rox
