Bruce Clayton Dokken, age 60, passed away from lung cancer Aug 3, 2017 at home in Fargo with his family. Bruce was born in Rugby, ND on April 24, 1957 to Wayne & Linda (Hjellum) Dokken. He moved with his family to Grafton, ND in 1962 & graduated from Grafton High School in 1975. Bruce married Sue Hoselton in East Grand Forks, MN on Aug 28, 1982. On January 7, 1983, their daughter Jenny was born. Bruce worked at a variety of jobs in Grafton including Morton Buildings & Haugen Excavating. In 1987 they moved to Minot, ND where Bruce worked for the City of Minot for 21 years. In 2010, they moved to Fargo ND where Bruce worked the last 5 years for Cass Rural Water. He retired June 30, 2017 due to poor health. Bruce was an avid hunter & fisherman & enjoyed playing many sports. He cherished time spent with his daughter, son in law & grandsons. Bruce was loved by many & will be missed. He is survived by his wife Sue of Fargo; daughter Jenny, her husband Jake Carolan & 2 grandsons, Dexter & Simon, of Eagan, MN; mother Linda Hoselton of Grafton; 2 sisters Lori & husband Terry Burns, & Lisa Dokken, & 1 brother Steve & wife Kelly Dokken all of Grafton; 14 brother & sister in laws, James & Jan Aasand, Grafton, David & Sally Kliniske, Drayton, Craig & Cindy Westin, Grenora, Rick & Becky Hoselton, Fargo, Scott & Cindy Hoselton, Fargo, Mary Olson, Minot, Roger Hoselton, Orlando, FL, Wayne & Linda Kadlec, Adams; 24 nieces & nephews; & other relatives & friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Wayne; sister, Valerie; & father & mother in law, Warren & Marcia Hoselton.

  4. Bruce was a classmate of mine and my husband’s. Going through high school with him was a treat, there was never a dull moment and he always made everyone laugh.   8. So sorry for your families loss. I graduated with Bruce and had many good times in class, on basketball trips, hunting and other weekend adventures. Many good times with Bruce and thoughts of him always bring a smile.

  10. Sorry to here of Bruce passing, our sympathies to the family. I worked with Bruce at cases rural water for two years before I retired in 2014. Always enjoyed Bruce. He usually had a joke to tell, had a wonderful laugh and always had a smile. Gods speed…

  11. Sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing. Certainly knew him as Steve’s big brother. But remember him for his great humor and love for fishing/hunting. My thoughts and prayers for your family.

He had an incredible wit and a personality that made everyone around him just want to spend more time with him. I have only happy memories of Bruce and feel blessed to have known him.   13. I only had the pleasure of meeting Bruce once he made me feel right at home in his house. I can see from the video he was a kind and caring man he has such kind eyes.
