Clarice “Clarie” Leona Overbo, 81, was born on May 7th, 1936 on a farm by Valley City, ND to Hattie (Heldman) and Henry Greb. She went to heaven on May, 14th, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Clarie attended country school in District 35, then Cuba school, and eventually graduated from Valley City High School in 1953. Clarie had always felt honored and blessed to have grown up on a farm with her 5 siblings. It was here that she discovered the importance of surrounding yourself with family. She has been described as having been a high-spirited child, and was especially adored by her father. Clarie worked for Fargo Public Schools for over 20 years where she loved interacting with kids daily (including many of her grandchildren). Clarie met Lloyd Overbo in 1953 at a Valley City Policemen’s Ball. In 1953 she married Lloyd and ultimately moved to Fargo ND to start a family. Together they had six sons. Timothy (Doreen), Gordon, Russell (Terry), Wesley (Ellen), Jeffrey (Kathy), and Kenneth (Susan). Clarie took great pride in raising her sons; describing this time as being the fondest of her memories. She instilled her values in all her boys; reinforcing them as her family grew. She hosted large family get-togethers, dinners, and holidays. Her house was always festive, decorated for holidays, welcoming and she and Lloyd were always happy to play a game of cards and visit. Her family camping trip traditions were some of her favorite times of the year as it brought everyone close together for at least a few days. Clarie had a profound love for Elvis Presley music and even in her last hours of life enjoyed listening to his gospel music with great admiration. She loved to color with her grandchildren, needlepoint, and spend time documenting and organizing photo and video memories for her family. Clarie is survived by 5 sons, 17 grandchildren; 2 honorary grandchildren Nathan Rhinhart and Dr. Gautam Phadke, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 2 sisters, many nieces and nephews and friends.
