Douglas J. Cossette, 58, Fargo passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends after short and courageous battle with cancer.

Doug was born December 18, 1958 in Fargo, North Dakota to Clifford and Denise (Sauvageau) Cossette. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1978. He worked for various construction companies, including Palliser Furniture Company. He also worked for Horvick Manufacturing and Swanston Equipment.

Doug loved car racing. If he wasn’t in the pits helping his friends with their cars, he was in the stands watching the race. He was a big fan of NDSU Bison football, the Philadelphia Eagles and Carson Wentz. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends around bonfires.

Doug will be greatly missed by his children, Andrew, Omaha, NE, Aimee, Fargo, ND; step-son, TJ, Omaha, NE; Pam Elvig, Omaha, NE; mother, Denise, Fargo, ND; siblings, Mark, Moorhead, MN, Curt (Shanda), West Fargo, ND, Darrel, Fargo, ND; nephews, Dana, Fargo, ND, Ryan (Lindsey), Fargo, ND, Brian (Angela), Moorhead, MN and niece, Shae, West Fargo, ND.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford, brothers, Brad, Greg and niece, Danielle.

Doug’s family invites you to a prayer service in his honor on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo starting at 5:00 P.M. with visitation starting at 3:00 P.M.

A Celebration of Doug’s life will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo starting at 2:00 P.M. with visitation starting at 1:00 P.M.

In lieu of normal funeral wear, please wear your Bison Pride or your favorite race car driver attire.

    Doug loved the races and was a pit crewman for Duane for many years. Now he has no pain.
