Elizabeth McKelvey
Elizabeth McKelvey, 93 yrs. Fargo, ND, left earth for her heavenly home, Thursday, December 14, 2017, in Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo.
Elizabeth was born October 31, 1924 in Greenfield, Iowa, the daughter of Cornelius and Nellie (Rosenbaugh) Eymann. She was raised in various farming communities in Iowa and Minnesota. She graduated from Breckenridge, MN High School and North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. On January 30, 1947, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Robert McKelvey in Wahpeton. They made their home in Wahpeton until moving to Moorhead in 1957. She was a loving, hard working mother dedicated to her family and her faith.
Elizabeth is survived by six children, Patricia Larson, Fargo, Debra (Jeffrey) Pool of Fargo, Stephen (Val) McKelvey of Osage, MN, Thomas (Anita) McKelvey of Bayport, NY, Daniel (Sharon) McKelvey of Grafton, WI, and Carmen McKelvey of Irving, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren and her friend Tiger the cat. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law Richard McKelvey of Roseville, MN, Douglas (Gail) McKelvey of Hurst, TX, a niece Kathleen (Jon) Raw and many nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by husband Robert (2005), her parents, daughter Janetta Talley (1975), and sister Louise Matz.

Steve, sorry for the loss of your mom. I never met her. Wishing you and your family sympathy from the heart.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you from Kara, Julie and me as you prepare for the funeral service. We would have loved to be with you all physically, but with two new babies, it wouldn’t have been appropriate to travel. We are with you in spirit and Tom represents us there. Until we all meet again in heaven, we will never forget her here on earth. She was very special to us all and we hope she is smiling down on her two new great grand babies, Rosaria and Baron.

Betty and I shared the Thursday 9 to 10 am Adoration hour at the Cathedral until her arthritis made it difficult for her to get around. If I’d offer to pick up groceries for her or help her in any way, she always kindly thanked me and told me that her children took care of her. What a sweet and devout lady. Rest in peace, dear Betty.

Dear Patricia and families,
Please accept my sympathies in the loss of your dear mother. I knew her as a “mother figure” when I was a kid and friend of Patricia when we lived in Wahpeton. When your family moved to Moorhead, your mom and dad welcomed my visits in the summer so Patricia and I could stay friends. She was patient and soft-spoken; a model for motherhood.
