George J. Tuchscherer, 89, West Fargo, ND passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. George was born August 23, 1927 in Devils Lake, North Dakota to Alexander and Magdelena (Ziegler) Tuchscherer. The family farmed near Webster, North Dakota. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 12, 1946, serving overseas before being honorably discharged on September 27, 1947. He moved back to Devils Lake where he married Jackilyn Robinson on September 19, 1953 in Devils Lake, North Dakota. They owned and operated the Great Northern Café before moving to West Fargo in 1966. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator and through that, his biggest accomplishment was running the front-end loader. He worked for Collins Construction, Sorenson Construction and finally Olander Construction. He kept his family very close and in his final years, he cared for his wife Jackie until her passing in 2014. George is survived by his children, Renee (Larry) Lord, West Fargo, North Dakota, Karen (Jim) Sheeley, Huntley, Montana, Greg (Julee) Tuchscherer, West Fargo, North Dakota; 7 grandchildren, Nicole (fiancé Jeremiah Lesher) Haarsager, Kellee Berglund, Hannah Berglund, all of West Fargo, North Dakota, Brett (Danielle) Sheeley, Billings, Montana, Kyle (Jill) Sheeley, St. Paul, Minnesota, Geoff Tuchscherer, Corpus Christi, Texas, Jayden Tuchscherer, West Fargo, North Dakota; 2 great-grandchildren, Madison Haarsager, West Fargo, North Dakota, Joseph Nordlund (Sheeley), St. Paul, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jackie, son, Rodney; sisters, Ada Barendt, Margaret Groth; brothers, Joseph Tuchscherer, Frank Tuchscherer and Conrad Tuchscherer. Prayer Service: 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Boulger Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, Fargo with visitation starting at 6:00 P.M. Funeral Mass: 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 4, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo with visitation starting at 9:00 A.M. Burial: 4:00 P.M. Friday, August 4, 2017 at Devils Lake Cemetery, Devils Lake, North Dakota.
