Jean Elizabeth Hartig was born to John and Pearl (Youngerman) Hartig on December 4, 1923 in Frostburg, Maryland. She graduated from high school in Frostburg, and then received her R.N. Degree in Comberland, Maryland. Upon completing nursing school, she moved to Ann Arbor, MI and worked at the University Hospital. She married George Thompson on December 21, 1946 in Frostburg, Maryland. They moved to Fargo, ND in 1952. Jean was a member of the Junior League of Fargo-Moorhead, Chapter E P.E.O. ,The Women’s Symphony Association, 2st District Medical Auxiliary, and Family Service Board.
She is survived by husband, George R. Thompson, children: George Thompson, Jr. (Pamela), Watertown, SD, Lynn Weibel (Fritz), Dornach, Switzerland, Ellen Thompson, Coos Bay, OR; grandchildren: Adam and Ann Weibel and Katherine Thompson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, John R. Hartig, and sister, Patricia Goetz.
