Jill passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Hillsboro Medical Center Hospital due to natural causes. Jill Marie Kritzberger was born on November 1, 1977, the daughter of Francis and Elizabeth (Vettel) Kritzberger in Hillsboro. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where she was a lifelong member. Jill grew up on the family farm near Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1996. She attended NDSCS in Wahpeton where she graduated with an associate degree in Practical Nursing in 1998. She worked at ManorCare in Fargo, Altru in Grand Forks, and also in Hillsboro. Jill was united in marriage to Jason Spaar in 2001. From this union her daughter Janessa was born in 2001. They later divorced. In 2008, Jill gave birth to twin girls. She lovingly gave these girls up for adoption. With her fiancé Eric Eggen, her youngest child, Gabriel was born in 2011. Jill was a sentimental loving and caring person who loved her children above all else. She struggled with medical issues over the last number of years. Jill is survived by her fiancé, Eric Eggen; children – Janessa Spaar of Hillsboro; Clare Overby and Isabel Overby of Madison, SD; Gabriel Eggen of Hillsboro; and step-sons, Alex and Josh Eggen. Also surviving are her parents, Francis and Liz Kritzberger of Hillsboro; brothers, Pete (Ang) Kritzberger – Evan, Zoe, Ali and Nina of Hillsboro; Leonard Kritzberger – Brennan Morris of Hillsboro; David (April) Kritzberger – Ryan Flechsing, Nadia of Lincoln, ND; and John (Jacque) Kritzberger of Hillsboro; sisters, Stephanie Kritzberger of West Fargo, ND; and Jeanne Kritzberger of Fargo; and many aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her brother, Steven; her grandparents Walter N. and Margaret Mary Vettel, Leonard Kritzberger, Laurence and Edna Vettel; her uncles, Lynn and Terry Kritzberger, and Bill Nero; her aunt, Bev Dennis; and her cousin, Amy Kritzberger. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 27 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hillsboro, ND, with visitation beginning one hour prior. A prayer service will take place at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 26 at the church, with visitation beginning at 5:30 PM. Burial will take place at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro, ND.

  19. I am so sorry for your loss. Rest assured Jill is in our Almighty father, Jehovah’s memory. He promises in Isaiah 33:24 that the day will come when “no one will be sick”. The Bible also tells us about an upcoming resurrection where all our loved ones sleeping in death will have the opportunity to live in a peaceful earth just like he intended from the beginning (John 5:28&29). These are great words of comfort and hope towards the future I will include your family in my prayers.
