Maria Stasch, 95, Fargo formerly, Hillsboro, ND passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo. She was born April 3, 1922 in Staffelstein, Germany to Jacob and Anna (Lunz) Schnaupauff. She came to the United States in 1951 and married Alfred Stasch on November 26, 1953 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Georgetown, MN. They made their home in Argusville, ND where Alfred worked on the farm. They later moved to Hillsboro, ND where she worked at the Hillsboro Community Hospital for 20 years before retiring and moving to Fargo in the fall of 1990. Alfred passed away on October 2, 2000. She remained in Fargo until her passing. She is survived by her children: Mary (Jim) Kritzberger, Hillsboro, ND; Rose Holmes, Chandler, AZ; Micky (Paul) Cose, Horace, ND; Barb (Wayne) Rheault, Moorhead, MN; Bernie Stasch, Fargo, ND; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred; brothers, Josef and Johann, sister, Barbara and son-in-law, Kirk Holmes. Funeral Mass: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Riverview Place Chapel, Fargo with visitation starting at 12:00 P.M. Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery North, Fargo.

  6. Sorry to hear about your mother, she was a friend of my mother, they worked together at the hospital in Hillsboro, mother always enjoyed her company.

  7. I was very sorry to hear of Maria’s death….she was a wonderful person. We worked together at the Hillsboro Hospital….worked hard, but had fun as well. And I still marvel at how fast she could knit! I am grateful to have known her.

  8. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. If you remember, I worked with your mom when I first graduated from nursing school and loved her dearly. Mothers are special and yours certainly was. She touched many lives and will be missed.
