Nathan passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36 on June 23, 2020 after a great night of playing softball where he hit multiple home runs helping his team win both games. Nathan Timothy Geist was born on July 3, 1983 in Bismarck, ND, where he attended school until the 7th grade. He moved to Oakes, ND where he graduated from High School in 2001. He then attended North Dakota State University in Fargo, graduating in 2006. Nathan was united in marriage to Amy Jo Kahler on December 10, 2011 in Montego Bay, Jamaica. They raised their family in Fargo. Throughout the years, Nathan worked in the restaurant industry in Fargo, most recently in sales for Sysco. Nathan was a dedicated family man who had a passion for everything sports-related. He was a devoted and boisterous Packers, Bison, and Twins fan. Nathan loved to be outdoors playing softball, grilling, fishing, or lending a hand to his many friends. Spending quality time with his family was always a priority. He was gregarious and known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. Nathan is survived by his wife, Amy Jo of Fargo; his two daughters, Brooklyn (12) and Raelyn (6); his mother, Laverne Geist of Forman, ND; his brother, Matthew (Kelly) Lesmeister of Lisbon, ND; his sister, Stephanie Lesmeister of Milnor, ND; his father-in-law, Rodney Kahler of Fargo; and his beloved cat, Jonny Santos Damon (15) He was preceded in death by his grandparents – Elizabeth and Reinhold Geist; his uncle, Clarence Geist; and his mother-in-law, Beverly Kahler.   7. Nathan was a manager at Porter Creek who hired me…the best. He had tremendous personal skills that gained his staff’s respect and friendship. Truly, a difficult skill rarely seen. I was honored to know him…strength to his family.

  14. So sorry for this sudden loss- you don’t think your heart can take it- but you are strong. I am now in awe of how strong you all were the day I saw you at the Chiropractor…for me not knowing what had happened. I am truly sorry I didn’t say something. May God’s peace be with you.
