Obituary

Timothy John Sweeney, 49, of Fargo, ND passed away on July 22nd, 2015 surrounded by family and friends.

Tim was born in Fargo, ND on March 19th, 1966. He received his elementary education at St. Anthony’s. In1983, he met the love of his life, Kimberly Bauske, while attending Shanley High. After Kim completed college in 1989, they moved to Racine, WI, where Tim worked as a bicycle mechanic. They were united in marriage on Sept. 22nd 1990, they moved to St Cloud, MN, where Tim enrolled at St. Cloud State and continued on to receive his bachelor degree in Accounting in 1997.

Tim worked as a CPA for 10 years before opening his own accounting firm. He always said “If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.” He had a passion for helping people, and was a blessing to all who knew him.

He enjoyed taking his classic boat out on the lake, volunteering with the Knights of Columbus especially managing the annual Christmas tree sales. Tim enjoyed his Tuesday mornings with the Super Fantastics, woodworking, collecting unique and extravagant pens. He loved quoting lines from his favorite movie, “Blazing Sadles”, drinking his Johnnie Walker neat, spending time with friends and family, bragging about his wife and kids while showing photos to all his clients that walked through his door.

Tim’s spirit is carried on by his loving wife, Kim; daughter, Breanna; son, Benjamin; mother, Madonna; Fargo, ND, brothers, Gregory (Toni), Boise, ID; Richard (Pamela), Fargo, ND; John (Leslie), Fargo, ND; Joseph (Kimberly) Reiles Acres, ND; sister, Anne (James), Dilworth, MN; sister-in-law Nela, Moorhead, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Tim has joined his father Donald and brother Patrick in eternal life.

Please dress in your favorite t-shirt or tie dye in honor of Tim.

I said every year that our taxes took Tim 15 minutes but the visiting took 2 hours! Tim was so proud of Kim and his kids and there was always a slideshow of pictures ready for us to view as he swung the computer screen around for us to see. The beer was cold and the conversation was lively. We will miss Tim! You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

To: Kim and the Sweeney family
I heard from Bob Tennesson about the passing of Tim. I’m sincerely sorry for your loss. I’m a Isley cousin of Tim’s from Bamberg, Ontario, Canada. I’m not sure if I actually met Tim when I was at a family reunion 3-4 years ago in Minnesota with Bob Tennesson, and brought Isley family tree books with me. From the obit that Bob sent me it sounds like Tim was a very special person to his family and a great all around guy to his friends.

  21. Steven Hall says:

I will never forget all the great times we had as kids. You will be missed, Tim. My deepest sympathies to the Sweeney Family.

  22. Lisa Nicklawsky Foss says:

I just read the notice of Tim’s passing in the Shanely High newsletter. I am so sorry for your loss. I always remembered Tim happy and smiling. He frequently was joking around and liked to make people laugh. He was taken much too soon.
