Anthony “Tony” Stephen Nistler, age 67, of Lake Park, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026 at Sunnyside Care Center after complications with ALS. He was born on January 31, 1959 in Fargo North Dakota to the late Steve (Harold) and Mary Lou (Kreitinger) Nistler.
Tony graduated from Shanley High School and attended Dickinson State University, where he earned his associate degree in Transportation Engineering. His career in the oil field in Killdeer began shortly after. Tony worked there until his retirement in 2025.
Family was very important to Tony and his daughters Nicole and Rochelle were at the center of his life. While living by Lake Park, Tony enjoyed the lake, working hard, playing cards, hunting, singing in the church choir and especially ice fishing. He was active at St Mary of the Lakes Catholic church with the Men’s club and church council.
Tony is survived by his two beloved daughters, Nicole and Rochelle, five sisters and two brothers: Peggy (Steve) Lorz, Mary (Louis) Romero, Katie (Jim) Traynor, Peter Nistler, Paul (Bert) Nistler, Theresa Nistler and Amy (Doug) Scott and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

We were Tony’s neighbors in the St. Anthony’s neighborhood for couple of years, and we fondly remember a good, kind, and generous man who could fix anything. Keith and I offer our sincere sympathy to his family and our prayers for the repose of Tony’s soul. May peace be with all who loved him.
