Arturo Santiago Perez, also known as Arthur to his family and as Art to his friends, passed away from a short battle with cancer surrounded by loved ones at Sanford Hospital on April 22nd, 2021 at the age of 66. The son of Paul Sr. and Otilia Perez, Arturo was born on March 7th, 1955. He attended his school years in Fargo and completed the carpentry program at Moorhead Technical College. He married Jill Burgess on June 13th, 1980. They spent the first few years of their marriage in Colorado. Arturo loved spending his time in nature and the mountains. They moved back to Fargo to be closer to family and raise their two daughters, Emily and Laura. Before his retirement in November of 2019, Arturo took pride in serving the community of Fargo while working with the Solid Waste Division for over 30 years. Arturo was preceded in death by his father Paul Perez Sr. and his mother Otilia Perez. Arturo is survived by his wife Jill Perez; his daughters Emily Johnson of Wyandotte, Michigan and Laura (Christopher) Klie of Grafton, North Dakota. He was recently blessed with his first grandchild, Greta Klie. Brothers; Paul Jr. (Paula) Perez, Carlos (Kelly) Perez; Sister; Alicia (Gary) Myer; along with many loved in-laws, nieces and nephews. His family and friends will remember him for his goofy personality and the way he hugged them with sarcasm. A private family gathering to celebrate Arturo’s life will be held at a later date. Should you wish to honor his memory, a recommendation would be to donate to the American Cancer Society or the Roger Maris Cancer Center.

    I lived in Colorado when they did.May,Many memories!!
    Paco was my brothers” star in” when Rock was in the Navy. Paco attended all our family functions in his place. He will be greatly missed!

  4. Oh Jill and family! I am so sorry to hear about Paco passing. He was a part of our family in a way that was so endearing. His sense of humor could keep us laughing and his tenderness in tough situations was such a blessing. He was free with his hugs and we are happy he is now pain free…. and i picture him hugging Mom, Rock, and Dad in heaven… right after Jesus!
