Shawn Worley

Shawn Paul Worley, 49 years old, unexpectedly passed away June 18, 2015. He was born May 3, 1966 to Floyd Worley and Marilyn Johnson in Northwood, ND. He was the youngest of 5 children. Shawn spent most of his young life in Crosby, ND. He and his siblings maintained the perfect balance of adventure and pushing the rules. He met his wife, Annette Nadene, in Crosby. They were high school sweethearts and graduated in 1984. They were married the next year in Minot. Shawn joined the Army in 1985 and started training as a radiology technologist. In July of 1986, their daughter Whitney Paige Worley was born. The family of 3 moved to Alaska and soon after on July 26, 1990, their son Ethan Taylor Worley was born. Eventually, the family of 4 moved back to North Dakota. Shawn worked as a radiology director at a new hospital in Fargo, ND. When he wasn’t working, he loved playing hockey, cooking, being at the lake, and spending time with his family. Whitney and Ethan grew up and Shawn was able to watch them graduate from high school and college and begin to start their own lives. Shawn started working for Carestream Health 10 years ago and was transferred to Wisconsin a few years ago. Once there, he and Annette loved spending time on their house, the yard, and with their pets. A few years later, he again was transferred, this time to Indiana. Here, he and Annette loved spending time gardening, riding the tractors, swimming in the pool, being entertained by their crazy dogs Reese, Remmy, Riley, and Ruby, and hosting their kids as often as they could visit, cooking several gourmet meals for them during each visit. Shawn was hard working, kind, and selfless. He loved his family with everything he had. He loved his pets, loved guns and shooting, the outdoors, gardening, cooking, casinos, and traveling with his family. In short, he loved life. He was a shoulder to lean on, a mentor, an amazing father, a loving husband, a loyal son, and a friend to all. He is irreplaceable and will be missed in more ways that we can possibly describe. He is survived by his wife Annette, daughter Whitney (Rob), son Ethan (Morgan), mother Marilyn (Irving), father Floyd (Cheri), brothers Christian (Linda), Chris, and sisters Adriene (Mike), Heidi (Bill), Taas (Eric), and Kit (Jesse).

Since we all lived quite a distance away, it wasn’t often but it is a vivid memory with lots of fun running around Norma’s yard, playing on the swingset, running thru the sprinklers and just laughing and having light hearted fun.
