A.G. "Hutch" Hutchinson, 78, Fargo, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Meritcare Hospital Palliative Care surrounded by his family. A.G. “Hutch” Hutchinson was born on May 13, 1931 to Amos G. and Josephine (Donoven) Hutchinson at Braintree, MA. He graduated from High School in Marshfield, MA where he was active in sports, lettering in football and basketball. He enlisted in the Navy and served as a Radar Technician and Petty Officer 3rd Class. After leaving the Navy he came to Fargo Moorhead where he enrolled in Minnesota State University, Moorhead. He received a Bachelor of Science degree and graduated in 1955 after which he worked as a painting contractor. In 1961 he became a licensed realtor and worked for Vic Anderson selling homes. A.G. “Hutch” Hutchinson and Lois (Cremer) Brusseau were married in Detroit Lakes, MN in 1964. They made their home in Fargo where he worked for Real Estate Services as a broker. He then worked for Meinecke-Johnson Construction for many years as Real Estate Manager. In 1980 he started his own business named Hutchinson Company and held the H.U.D. contract for North Dakota for 12 years. Hutch loved sports, playing golf and rooting for the Boston Celtics, in which he owned stock. He loved hunting, particularly bird hunting, and taught others to hunt as well. He was active in Ducks Unlimited and was instrumental in getting land dedicated to bird habitat. He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and was active on many committees. He so enjoyed looking forward to summering at their lake home on Pelican Lake for 39 years. He is survived by his wife, Lois, Fargo; his children, Chelly (Randy) Johnson, Fargo, Fran (Bruce) Fjelde, Fargo, Vicki (Bruce) Johnson, West Fargo, Kathy (Rick) Budde, St. Michael, MN, Jill (David) Hough, Mount Horab, WI; 12 grandchildren, Eric, Michael, and Katie; Erik and Valli; Angie and Kim; Ashley, Bobby, and Kristina, Ohana and Greta; 9 Great Grandchildren, Sam, Brynn, Annika, Hallie, Rylan, Carver, Brooklyn, Peyton, and Kason; 2 brothers, David (Dee) CN, Loring (Kathleen), TX; 1 sister, Linda (Tom) Reynolds, MA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother, Paul. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo. There will be a Prayer Service at Boulger Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 Tuesday in the funeral home and one hour before the funeral in the church. Interment will be at Holy Cross North, Fargo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Roger Maris Cancer Center, Fargo, ND.
