Alice Bernardy

Alice Bernardy, 84, Fargo, passed away Friday, May 7, 2004 in Bethany Homes, Fargo. Alice Bernardy was born on September 29, 1919 to Joseph and Sophie (Hartman) Bernardy. She grew up in Fargo, attended St. Mary?s Catholic School and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1937. Alice worked as a bookkeeper at the deLendrecie?s Department Store for a number of years before going to work for Gate City Bank. She retired as head bookkeeper of Gate City Bank in 1981 after working there for 30 years. Alice was a gentle loving person who dedicated her life to, and loved, her church, family and friends. She will be missed. She is survived by three sisters, Mabel Rice, Monticello, MN, Josephine Lowney, Zimmerman, MN, and Hazel Bellemare, Pocahontas, Arkansas; one brother, Joseph Allen (Lee Ann) Bernardy, Winona, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her three brothers, Herbert Louis Bernardy, Raymond Sherman Bernardy, and Otto Budd Bernardy; and two sisters, Dorothy Helen Stuhr and Betty Jane Bernardy.
