She was born on June 14, 1942, in Minnie Lake Township, North Dakota.  Her parents were Alfred and Emma (Krack) Thum of rural Page, N.D.  She graduated from Page (N.D.) High School in 1960.

She was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Church in West Fargo before becoming a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Moorhead, MN.

She worked at the M&J Saloon and the VFW in West Fargo, ND.  For the last 31 years, she has taken care of her 400 plus kids at South Elementary in West Fargo as their cook.

Almost every day during the summer you could find her tending her garden at Turtle Lake, MN.

Preceding in her death are her parents; and one sister, Barbara Johnson.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Moorhead; children Allen (Lori) Rausch of Maple Grove, MN, Anna Marie (Chris) Stenson, of Moorhead, and Andrew (Virginia) Rausch of Moorhead, MN;  very special grandchild Tia Stenson.  She is survived by two sisters, Violet Thum of Fargo, ND, and Vera DeSha of Stormville, NY.; and by three brothers, Richard Thum of Page, ND, Henry Thum, of Valley City, ND, and Alfred (Buddy) Thum, of Valley City, ND.

So Sorry for your loss. Richard and Alice always made my day to register them at Roger Maris. From the first day I met them I could tell they were like two peas in a pod, they were meant for each other. They always had smiles on their faces, and would laugh together with their cute rosie cheeks. I hope Richard finds peace in knowing he will someday be reunited with Alice again.

We will miss you a bunch especially at either at the lake or at home playing cards and calling each other those “bad” names.

By the way someone will have to step up and feed those darn little sunfish. Don’t worry the barking spiders will live on.

    We will always love you.

I love you Grandma Forever and always!
