 Ann Schiwal, 83, Fargo, passed away on   November 11, 2010 at Rosewood on Broadway.

Ann Schiwal was born to Joseph and Anna Grasser on September 30, 1927 at Regent, North Dakota. She grew up on the family farm south of Taylor, ND and attended school in that area until moving with her family to West Fargo where she graduated from High School. Ann then attended Dickinson State College and received her teaching certificate there. Ann taught school for three years in Lefor, ND. Ann married Edward Schiwal in Lefor, ND on June 24, 1947. They lived in Lefor for a time before coming to Fargo. Ann worked at the FM Hotel and the Tree Top Room for 16 years before going to work for the Fargo School District at Madison Elementary and North High School. Ann retired from North High School.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Ann (Gary) Leuer, Corcoran, MN: their children Briana (Steve) Frey and Tiffany and Maris Frey, Jeremy (Lauren) Leuer and Jason Leuer, Tamara (Ashcon) Madjid and Kian and Ethan Madjid; her daughter,  Bernadine (DeLyle) Mortenson: daughter, Jenevieve Glemming and Aidyn;  her sisters, Dorothy Miller, Richardton, ND, Pauline (Leo) Grandbois, Fargo, ND,  Agnes (Ray) Cossette, Fargo, ND; her brother Robert (Vi) Grasser, Fargo, ND.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her granddaughter, Tiffany Leuer; and her grandson, Patrick Glemming and great grandson Ryan Madjid.

    My husband and I were lucky to have known Ann at Rosewood. She was a sweet lady with a terrific smile. I will always remember her she really was a sweetheart. We are so sorry for your loss.
