Arlene Winters

Arlene Winters, 77 of Fargo, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley after a 5 year battle with cancer.
Arlene Kilbride was born on December 8, 1932 in Fargo to James and Regina (Vitt) Kilbride. She grew up and attended school in Fargo. She married Stanley J. Winters on July 10, 1955 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo. Arlene worked in the Canteen at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo for many years.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and was well known as the "recipe lady". She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the highlight of her day was coffee-break time with Sadie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 infant sister, Donna and by her sister, Shirley Urbach.
Arlene is survived by her daughters, Cindy Winters of Fargo, Kim (Al) Mitchell of Branson West, MO, Susan (Brian) Williams of West Fargo; 2 granddaughters, Melissa Williams and Ashley (Jeff) Salmonson; great grandson, Landon Williams; great-granddaughter, Bella Salmonson; brother Kenneth (Genelle) Kilbride of Fargo; sisters, Carol Harrington of Fargo, Joyce (Ron) Crepps of Fargo, Gail (Wayne) Freeberg of Lisbon, ND, Janice Schock of Willmar, MN, Marlys (Don) Glirbas of Minneapolis, MN and her beloved dog, Sadie.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of the Red River Valley and Roger Maris Cancer Center for all their care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Roger Maris Cancer Center.

My deepest sympathy to Arlene’s family. I worked at Midland with Stan, so I’ve know your family for many years. May your memories be of great comfort and help with healing peace.
Also I worked with sister Joyce Krebs at Dakota Hospital years ago, before I knew Stan or Arlene.May Arlene rest in peace……Cheryl Hartl.
