Arthur Skonseng

Arthur N. Skonseng, 94, Fargo, died, Sunday, June 7, 2009 in MeritCare Hospital. Art was born at Fort Ransom, ND on March 5, 1915 to Elinas and Dina (Olson) Skonseng. He farmed in Fort Ransom. Art married Ardella Bjone on March 1, 1940. He was a member of the North Dakota National Guard from 1935 through 1938 and served in World War II. He retired from Corwin Churchill Auto Parts in 1980. Art and Ardella lived at Trollwood Village for nine years before moving to Bethany Towers I in 2008. He was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church and also a member of the VFW. He is survived by his wife, Ardella, two daughters; Judy (Robert) Walker, West Palm Beach, FL and Joan (Douglas) Zuehlsdorff, LaPorte, MN; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Bjone, Lisbon, ND. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to those who have come together to celebrate Art’s life. Art loved the Lord. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mavis Whiting Chapel in Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
