Barbara Strum, 58, West Fargo ND, died June 3rd, 2012 at Elim Nursing Home, Fargo. Barbara Watne was born September 20, 1954 in Glasgow, Montana to Mansel and Esther (Fadness) Watne. Barb grew up in West Fargo, graduating from West Fargo High. After high school, Barb worked as a bank Teller in West Fargo. Barb moved to Bismarck, working part-time at a Bismarck bank and going to Bismarck State College. Barb graduated from BSC with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. She worked in Respiratory Therapy for over 30 years. At one point in time, Barb was the Assistant Director of Respiratory Therapy at Dakota Hospital in Fargo. Barb worked with numerous hospitals and respiratory therapy companies over those years. She enjoyed her work, as a Respiratory Therapist. She was a wonderful caregiver and helped many patients and their families. She also enjoyed her talented and fun-loving co-workers. Barb married Randy Strum, October 9th 1982, in Moorhead, Minn. They made their home in West Fargo and have lived there since. Barb dearly loved her family, and loved watching her children Stacy and Brandon and her grand-children grow. Lately, she has really enjoyed seeing Chance play hockey in the USHL for the Lincoln Stars, Austyn graduate from high school, Sailor with her dance classes and Bo as he starts playing hockey. Barb is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Randy and children – Stacy Bitzer and Brandon Johnson, mother Esther Watne, sisters’, Joanne (Gary) Hofstad, Deanna Rychliki and brother, Jeff (Delayne) Watne. Barb will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Barb was preceded in death by her sister Marilyn Watne and her father Mansel Watne.
