Barbara V. Lake

Barbara V. Lake, 58, Moorhead, died Monday December 22, 2008 in MeritCare Hospital Pallative Care Unit, Fargo, ND. Barbara was born on October 20, 1950 in Chicago, IL to Russell and Jean (Mastrud) Lake. She spent the first 8 years of her life in Chicago and then moved to St. Louis Park, MN. Upon graduating from high school, she moved to Moorhead, MN and received her bachelor?s degree in drama from Moorhead State University in 1972. While attending MSU, she performed with the Straw Hat Players. Barbara began her career as a flight attendant with Northwest Airlines and was employed there for 20 years. Barbara married Doug Hamilton on April 12, 1975 in St. Louis, MN and the couple was together for about 10 years. She married John Majors on October 7, 2005 in Fargo, ND. The couple made their home in Moorhead. She held numerous jobs including most recently a home-based business, ?Pelican Bay Designs?, in which Barbara was able to use her artistic talents in making quilted wall hangings. Barbara will be remembered for her caring and loving ways. She was very outgoing with a big heart and infectious smile. Barbara is survived by her husband: John Majors; daughters: Sarah Gackle (Tim) Fargo, ND, Ashley Hamilton, Fargo, ND; son: Ben Hamilton, Fargo, ND; step-son: McAdam Majors, Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren: Kasey, Alexander, Hannah and Jacob Gackle; sisters: Jennifer Eckerstrom (Kim) Minneapolis, MN, Beverly Lake, Moorhead, MN; and brother: Russell Lake (Briton) Minneapolis, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 26, 2008 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
