Elizabeth ?Beth? Ann Fischer, 75, died Thursday January 15, at MeritCare Hospital surrounded by her family, due to complications from pneumonia. Beth was born on September 29, 1933 to Alfred and Mary (Sturgis) Gailfus in Rolla, ND. She attended school in Rolla. Beth was united in marriage to Robert ?Bob? Fischer on July 29, 1950. They lived in Bismarck, ND for a time but Bob?s construction work took them to different sights in ND, MT, and MN and they wintered in Dilworth, MN. They moved to Fargo, ND in 1959 and have lived in the same home since that time. She had a day care in her home for many years in addition to being a foster parent for Lutheran Social Services. She took in over 30 children, all newborns with as many as three babies at one time. She began working at Cass County Veteran?s Services on January 28, 1970 and was there for 33 ? years retiring in June of 2002. She liked to cook and holiday celebrations were important to her. Many special times were spent with family at the lake home on Big Cormorant. She is survived by her husband; children: Bob Fischer, Sioux Falls, SD, Kathi (Ken) Roseth, Fargo, ND, Don Fischer, Fargo, ND, Rebecca (Mark) Anderson, Brighton, Co, Jim Fischer, West Fargo, ND; 12 grandchildren: 15 + great grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters, Jim (Mary Don) Gailfus, Fargo, ND, Robert (Janice) Gailfus, Puyallup, WA, Richard (Helen) Gailfus, Bloomington, MN, Greta Monette, Ellendale, ND, John Gailfus, Longview, WA, Marjorie (Ray) Hoff, Ignacio, CO, Bill (Nanette) Gailfus, Apache Junction, AZ, Debbie (Cliff) Iverson, Tioga, ND, and Dianne (Ed) Peltier, Bismarck, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Lorraine Ortegel, and grandson; Donovan Anderson. Visitation: There will be a visitation Sunday, January 18, starting at 5 in Boulger Funeral Home, followed by a prayer service at 7. Funeral Service: There will be a funeral service on Monday, January 19 at 2:00 in St. Johns Lutheran with a visitation 1 hour before the service in the church. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
