Bette Johnson

Bette Johnson, 95, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Bethany Homes in Fargo. Bette Lynch was born on June 24, 1912 to James and Delia Lynch at Red Bank, New Jersey. She came to North Dakota at the age of seven and lived with her aunt and uncle, Mr. And Mrs. William Malchow. She attended Fargo schools and graduated from Fargo Central High School. Bette took the dental hygienist exam in 1946 and received the #1 license in North Dakota. Bette worked for Dr. Willard Brown for 12 years after which she worked at Patterson Dental Supply. She then worked for Dr. John Bartley and finished her career traveling the state teaching children about proper dental care. Bette married Hugo Johnson in 1954 in Glendive, MT. Mr. Johnson died in 1963. Bette is survived by her caretaker and neice Joanne (John Bridgeford, Detroit Lakes, MN; Nephew, Paul (Stella) Bridgeford, Detroit Lakes, MN; cousin, Elaine Malchow and family, St. Paul, MN; very special friends, Sharon Mark, Vi Carrier and Sara Smith, all from Fargo; and many more cousins and friends. Bette was known for her quick wit and was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and sisters; and her cousin, William Malchow. Visitation: 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, February 22, 2008 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, ND with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm.
