Beverly Schanilec

Beverly Walter Schanilec, 69, 682 13th Avenue East, West Fargo, ND, died Monday, May 12, 2003, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Beverly was born March 8, 1934, in Oakes, ND, to Harry and Eva Walter. She graduated from Oakes High School and went to work for Otter Tail Power Company, and later on for the Oakes Radio Station. In 1966, she moved to Fargo and worked for KFGO Radio where she had her own show called ?Bev & Jack: The Odd Couple?, and also became KFGO Farm Director. She was the first female farm director on radio. She retired from KFGO in 1979. On August 17, 1979, Beverly married Maynard Schanilec in West Fargo, and then became a homemaker for the rest of her life. The couple made their home in West Fargo since their marriage. She is survived by her husband, Maynard, West Fargo; and her mother, Eva Walter, Fargo. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Walter. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The funeral will be held at 12 noon Friday in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Friday in St. Charles Cemetery, Oakes, ND. Memorials are preferred to Roger Maris Cancer Center, Fargo. Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
