Bill Bischoff, age 56, of Fargo, ND died unexpectedly on Friday, August 21, 2009 at home. Bill was born on May 31, 1953 in Texas and lived all over the United States while his father served in the military. He eventually settled in the Detroit Lakes, MN area for a time before moving to Fargo, ND in the 1980’s. He worked as a pipe welder for Case Corporation/Concord, Inc. In 2006 he began working with Valley Bus Company as an aide to children with special needs. Bill loved the students and was looking forward to seeing all the children and their families in the upcoming school year. Recently his greatest joy was feeling the freedom of riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and friends often commented about seeing the grin on his face while he was riding. Bill was an excellent treasure hunter and spent many enjoyable hours scouring antique and thrift stores. A favorite pastime was fishing with his son, Jay. He was happiest when spending time with family and visiting grandchildren together with Pat. He is survived by his son: Jay Bischoff, Madison, WI; fiancée: Pat Smeby, Fargo, ND and her children: Jason Smeby, Fargo, Kristy (Dave) Lorang, Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren: Edward Smeby, Fargo, Morgan, Nick and Zach Lorang, Sioux Falls; and a sister: Sandy (Mike) Ryan, Fargo. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held on Monday, August 24, 2009 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
