Bruce Burd

Bruce Burd Hillsboro, North Dakota Bruce passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo at the age of 70. Bruce was born on April 3, 1936 on a farm near Nielsville, MN, the son of Charles and Anne (Nygaard) Burd. Bruce grew up in Bingham Township, ND and graduated from high school in Climax, MN. He served for 4 years in the Air Force and attended Concordia College for a brief time. Bruce married Twila Haakenson on December 19, 1964 in Hillsboro. He farmed with his brother, Dick, worked construction, operated Burd Grain Cleaning and worked for local farmers. He also served on the Hillsboro School Board and was currently serving on the Water Resource Board. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Jimmy, Mike, Bill, and Dick. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Twila of Hillsboro; his sons, Chad Burd of Marietta, GA, Jack Burd of White Bear Lake, MN, Wade (Trish) Burd of St. Petersburg, FL; grandson, Derek; brother, Miles (Lou) Burd of Galata, MT; sister, Barb (Dave) Kaldahl of Detroit Lakes, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 1 PM Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. VISITATION: One hour prior to the service in the church. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
