Bruce A. Weitzel, age 51 of Fargo, died peacefully after a 1 ? year challenging struggle with melanoma on Friday, June 23, 2006 in the Palliative Care Unit of MeritCare Hospital, Fargo. Bruce Allen Weitzel was born on November 25, 1954 to Irvin and Marlys (Jurgenson) Weitzel in Fargo. He graduated from Fargo South High School in 1974. After graduation he worked at W.W. Wallwork for a time and then helped his father in the painting business for about 30 years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica, camping and bonfires, fishing, hunting and bike riding. Bruce was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He was affectionately known as Woody and Whitey by his friends and as Louie by his brother, Jeff. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marlys; grandparents, Floyd and Emma Jurgenson and Carl and Alice Weitzel. Bruce is survived by his father, Irvin of Fargo, sister, Linda Graf of Fargo; brothers, Jeff (Sharon) Weitzel of Fargo and Byron Gronvold of Key West, FL; nieces and nephews, Nathan Graf of Fargo, Courtney Graf of Boulder, CO, Jason Weitzel of California, Adam Weitzel of Fargo, Erik (Sara) Gronvold of Jacksonville, FL; great nieces and nephews, Chase, Paige and Allyssa Berger all of Glen Ullin, ND, Grace and Anders Gronvold of Jacksonville, FL; long-time love, Cheryl Weber of Fargo and his cat, Cleo. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Monday, June 26 at Boulger Funeral Home Fargo with a prayer service following at 7:00 pm. The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 27 at 3:00 pm in St. Mark?s Lutheran Church in Fargo. Burial will held at a later date in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
