Carlton ASkip@ Benesh Johnson, passed away at the age of 62 on the 7th of July due to complications from diabetes. Born in Bismarck, ND he was the son of Waldemar AWally@ and Lillian Johnson. Skip is survived by his wife of 38 years. Shirley and his children Steven, Sheila, Stacy and Scott. A North Dakota native from beginning to end, Skip was confirmed at Faith United Methodist Church in Fargo. He graduated from Fargo High school and attained multiple college degrees to include a Master in Criminal Law from the University of North Dakota. Skip=s life can be summed up in one word, and that is ADuty@. He had a long distinguished and satisfying career in Law Enforcement and the military. Skip served as a citizen soldier in the North Dakota Army National Guard, representing the state in multiple shooting competitions. His full time career was in Law Enforcement having served as a Police Officer for the city of West Fargo, and as a Probation Officer in various cities for 17 years for the state of North Dakota. Skip finally found his passion and true calling in the role of a teacher, becoming the director of Peace Officer Training at Lake Region State College for 12 years before being forced to retire due to his medical conditions. The funeral service for Skip will be Friday, July 14, at 2:00pm at Faith United Methodist Church, Fargo. A Prayer Service will be Thursday, July 13, at 7:00pm also at Faith United Methodist Church and visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Faith United Methodist.
