Carol Podetz

Carol Podetz, 81 of Fargo, died Saturday, November 22, 2008 at her home. Carol Elaine Swanson was born on August 9, 1927 to Carl and Edith (Pearson) Swanson near Gardner, ND. She attended Gunkelman Public and Rose Valley Consolidated Schools. Her first job was working in the fields at harvest time for a neighbor. She took a position at Holsum Bakery in Fargo, ND for a short time and then at the age of 22 began working for Snow White Cleaners, which over the years became: Park Laundry, Fargo Park Laundry, Fargo Laundry, and finally Leef Cleaners. Carol was a manager there for over 52 years. Carol married George Podetz on May 7, 1949. After retiring in 1998, she was an active volunteer at her church and at PATH and continued working part-time at Leaf. She was also a member of the Association of Retired Volunteers. She enjoyed quilting and played cards with a church group. She is survived by her son, David ?Dave? Podetz (fianc?, Brenda Boland) of Fargo, ND; siblings, Gladys Ingrid Maria Podetz of Fargo, ND, Delores ?Jean? Jorgenson (Parnell) of Surprise, AZ, Carl ?Norman? Swanson of Fargo, ND and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and by her sister-in-law, Maxine Swanson. Memorial Service: Wednesday, November 26 at 11:00 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
