Chester A. Oleson

Chester A. Oleson, age 88, Page, ND, died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Elim Home, Fargo, ND. Chester A. Oleson was born in Luverne, ND to Art and Nettie Oleson on May 2, 1917. Chester attended school at Luverne and Wahpeton School of Science where he studied to become a linotype operator. He worked in Lidgerwood, ND and Mille Lacs, MN before accepting a position in May 1950 in Washington D.C. in the government printing office. He remained there until his retirement in September 1977. He returned to North Dakota and married Mildred Schmidt Poehls at Page, ND on October 15, 1977. Chester was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Page, and served on the Elm River Credit Union board. Chester enjoyed reading and watching baseball. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, Page, ND; 4 stepchildren, Sheryal (Arlo) Mittleider, Page, ND, Dalene (Jack) Van Eaton, Hot Springs, SD, Rita (Gary) Molldrem, Moorhead, MN, Marle (Lisa) Poehls, Fargo, ND; 9 step grandchildren, and 4 step great grandchildren; a cousin, Ruth (Jim) Pacey, Burlington, Vermont, and his niece, Tonetta Oleson. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and a special aunt, Gertrude West. Memorial Service: Saturday 11 am. ?
