Conley ?Con? Tschakert, age 58, Horace, ND, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, in Strasburg, ND.

Conley Joseph Tschakert was born December 9, 1946, in Watertown, SD, the son of Donald and Berniece (Strohfus) Tschakert. He grew up on a farm near Florence, SD, and graduated from Florence High School in 1965. He then graduated from Mohler Barber College in Fargo. He began working at the Sears store in downtown Fargo in 1967, and later served as division manager at the Sears store located in West Acres. After 17 years with the company, Con left Sears in 1984 when he purchased the Sheyenne Bar in Horace. He owned and operated the bar until he sold the bar and retired in January 2004.

Conley was united in marriage to Elaine Brunelle Tessier on December 6, 1981, at Church of the Nativity in Fargo. They made their home in Fargo where they lived until moving to Horace in 1985. Con loved hunting, fishing, and the outdoors, and maintained a home in Linton for those activities.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Horace; one son, D.J. of Fargo; one daughter, Tracy Tschakert Langerud (Clinton Langerud) of Barnesville, MN; two stepchildren, Shane Tessier of Las Vegas, NV, and Shannon Tessier of Fargo; and one grandson, Mac Tschakert Langerud. He is also survived by three sisters, Marilyn Augustine of Sioux Falls, SD, Justine (Richard) Trapp of Rapid City, SD, and Geraldine Fishbach of Watertown, SD; and two brothers, Richard Tschakert of Rapid City, SD, and Raymond (Joyce) Tschakert of Hiram, GA.

The funeral will be at 11 AM Tuesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held in the church Tuesday one hour prior to services.
