Corrine Bergson, 74, 210 23rd Street South, Fargo, died Thursday, January 8, 2004, in MeritCare Health System, Fargo.
Corrine LaVerne Ellingson was born April 25, 1929, in Perley, MN, the daughter of John and Olga Ellingson. She attended rural schools in Perley and Shelly, MN. The family moved to Gary, MN in 1940. She graduated from Gary High School in 1945 and attended Moorhead State Teachers? College. She later taught at rural Gary and Ada schools. She moved to Fargo in 1963 and with her husband, John, owned and operated Shaleen?s Upholstery in Fargo from 1965 to 1995, when they retired. John passed away in 1998. Corrine married Duane Bergson in 1999, and they spent her last years happily together.
She is survived by her husband, Duane, Fargo; three sons, Tom Stevens, Rapid City, SD, Randy (Deb) Stevens, Fargo, and Tracy Shaleen, Albuquerque, NM; two stepsons, Lyle Bergson, Fargo, and Joel (Tammy) Bergson, Fargo; three grandchildren; 1 nephew; 4 nieces and one sister, Adeline Olson, Bloomington, MN.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, John; one son, Barry; and one sister, Ione Peterson.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
