Dan was employed by the City of Moorhead for nearly 40 years in the Waste Water Division where he was a maintenance supervisor. He married the longtime love of his life, Linda on May 5, 2011. The family would like to offer a very special thank you to Bob Zimmerman, Tammy Lee, and Mike Fjelstad  for all of their love and support during the past few months.

As a kid, I remember having a lot of fun with Dan. He always knew how to make us laugh and shared a lot of jokes. There were times he would look out for me too. I felt like I was part of the family around him. He was one cool uncle.

I had not seen Dan in awhile. But the memories still hang on. He was always funny and waiting to pull a joke on me or to gross me out. I wish I had been closer. He was a great friend.

Cranston RIThere’s a few moments if everyone’s life that you will never forgot. For some of us its a first girlfriend, or car, or a prom ect. For me, having never left and ventured too far from home, was a trip I took a few years ago to Fargo, ND
. I had no idea what I was in for when my good friend Dan Sandbeck took me over to Dan Sr’s log cabin. First off it was packed with people. People laughing, joking, and drinking. It was my first time ever singing Karaoke…which I think haunted Dan Sr for a while.. To say the least it was an epic night..a night I will never forget. I was honored to be there, welcomed in by your family. Thank you Dan, I will always remember your father, and that night.

    Linda and Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of Dan. I know there are no words that can help this kind of pain. Just know that I praying for the strength you all need to get through these days ahead. Dan brought a smile to my face every time he walked through my door at work. I’ve never met anyone with a better sense of humor. I will miss our talks about food (we shared numerous recipes) and sports (we shared our disappointment in the Vikes). Dan was very much loved and will be truly missed by so many people. I hope you all find peace in the days ahead. Thank you for the friendship Dano. I won’t ever forget you.

I will truly miss him, I’ve known him over half my life and VERY proud to have called him my father in law. I will NEVER forget the day he showed up at my Fundraiser and he walked in the door and I burst into tears when I saw him. Dan doesn’t usually go to big social events like that, so for him to come to my Fundraiser meant the world to me!! Dan will always have a special place in my heart and very happy/proud to have my son Danny carry on the Sandbeck name!! Love you always!!
