Obituary

Darlene Ann Williams, Lake Park, MN passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo.

Darlene Ann Williams (Russell) was born January 11, 1940 to Kermit and Eleanor Russell, in Valley City, ND. She had two brothers; Daniel (Diane) Colorado Springs,  CO, David (Ginny) Minneapolis, MN,  and one sister, Donna Russell, Omaha, NE.  She married Duane Williams on April 11, 1961 in SD.  She is survived by her husband of 51 years; Duane, her six children, Gloria (Don) Haapapuro, Rollag, Sue (Brad) Larson, Cindy (Doug) Dietrich, Holly (Russel) Richter, Duane Jr., and Dan (Courtney) Greeley, CO.  She also had twelve grandchildren, and five great grand children, and her Aunt Rose Olson.  She was preceded in death by two granddaughters Jessi (1985) Cassie (2002), her parents Kermit and Eleanor Russell and grandparents Cora and Frank Roberts.

When she was younger she loved to sing and dance and was featured on the local radio station several times.  Her strength and sense of humor were legendary.  After entering the hospital in April she became the “Champion” with her granddaughter Amanda and her great-granddaughter Victoria.  She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle solver, collector of all kinds of jewelry; she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She will be missed by her family every day.
