David John Boisjolie 91, Fargo passed away Sunday January 11, 2015.
David John Boisjolie was born April 1, 1923 to Homer and Marie (Rheault) Boisjolie in Fargo. In his senior year of High School he enlisted in the Navy at 17 years old in 1941. He traveled the world on the Heavy Cruiser Wichita for 2 ½ years during World War ll. He then continued his Navy assignments on the submarine Guardfish, on which they sank 7 ships in 1 night and received the Presidential Unit Citation. He spent 17 years in the US Navy, and left as an MMI
Dave and Leona were married January 16, 1953 and spent most of their life together in Fargo. He had a very entrepreneurial spirit and was involved in the following businesses; Grand Forks River Speedway, Flame Tavern, and The Bowler, Allstate Auto Brokers and Boisjolie Motors until his retirement. His was quite a car enthusiast, from restoring cars to racing stock cars. He loved fishing, oil painting, and spending time with his family at their lake home on Big Cormorant Lake.
He is survived by his loving wife Leona of 62 years, daughter, Debra (Richard) Macias of Minnetonka, MN, sons; Craig (Ann) of Fargo, Roger (Nelma) of Houston, TX, 3 grandchildren Heather Boisjolie, Haley Boisjolie, David C. Boisjolie, sister; Rosemary Sundby of Fargo.
He is preceded in death by his parents, infant twin sister’s Janette and Genevive, brother Ernest, killed in action during WW II.

We have such fond memories of Dave at the lake . I can see him sitting on the back dock fishing. He was always so nice to Chris and was always giving him helpful tips. Dave was happy to have the gang of kids at the cabin. He always had a smile and enjoyed his life. He will be missed. Love, Eides;

Rocklin CASo many fond memories of Uncle Dave at all of our \”Griesbach Christmas\” parties – dinner at the Bowler, homemade ice cream, all the Dads playing poker in the basement and I think I could pay for a year of college with all the dimes I put in the slot machine!! And then there were all the wonderful Fourth of July celebrations at the lake. He always had a grin for you and a twinkle in his eye. My thoughts are with all of you during this time. 91 great years!!
