David Lawrence Thene, age 69, of Moorhead, MN, died on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, ND.

David was born on April 12, 1940 at St. Cloud, MN, the son of Anthony and Rose (Popp) Thene. He graduated from Cathedral High School and attended St. Johns University. He married Jean Hoppert in 1962. He owned and operated Sims Management in Grand Forks, ND. He was General Manager of Nardini Fire Equipment of North Dakota for 24 years. In 1994 David married Barbara Fiedler Farrar. David’s passion in life was his family and sharing his “up north” cabin on the Vermillion River. His priority in life was spending time with his blended family and making many life long memories.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Moorhead; his daughter, Angela Bolgrean of Esko, MN; his two sons, David of Fargo and Mark of Buffalo, MN; his daughters, Holly (Shannon) Schweigert of Fargo; Stephanie Weaver of Fargo; and Leah (Joey) Mau of St. Francis, MN. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Matthew, Ashley, and Joshua Bolgrean; Levi, Justus, and Zakary Thene; Andy and Ali Schweigert; Katy Weaver; and Abby and Haley Mau; his brother, Donald Thene of Sun Lake, AZ; and his sisters, Doreen (Butz) Zapf and Rosanne (Don) Marberg of St. Cloud; and also many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Joseph; his brother, Bob; and his sister-in-law, Joan Thene.

VISITATION: 5-7 PM Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo – and also one hour prior to the service in the church on Wednesday

PRAYER SERVICE: 7 PM Tuesday at Boulger Funeral Home

FUNERAL SERVICE: 3 PM Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Gethsemane Cathedral in Fargo
