Dean Andrew Briggs died unexpectedly on August 29th, 2012 at the age of 44. He was surrounded by family, in Fargo, North Dakota.

Dean was born on February 19, 1968, the son of John and Diane Briggs in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Fargo, and graduated from Fargo South High School in 1987. After graduation he attended Moorhead Technical School. Dean started working at Hornbacher’s grocery store at age 16. He continued to work for them; and later SuperValu Corporation for 28 years. Most recently he worked as Produce Quality Control Inspector at the Fargo SuperValu warehouse. He married Rebecca Bischof in Minot, ND on July, 23 1993. He made his home in South Fargo near South High School until his death.

Throughout his life Dean enjoyed outdoor activities. He especially enjoyed mountain biking and riding his motorcycle. His bouts of ‘spring fever’ are legendary among family and friends. He will be missed by all of his family, his friends, and his special little dog.

Dean is survived by his children, Dylan Briggs and Keely Briggs of Minot, ND; his parents John and Diane Briggs; his brother Blair (Jennifer) Briggs; his sister Amy (Jeff) McKinnon; nephews Miles McKinnon and Hudson Briggs, and nieces Amelia Briggs and Meritt McKinnon; all of Fargo. Preceded in death by his son Daniel.

    I am Amy’s classmate didn’t know Dean very well (Maybe only met him passing through the Briggs house with Amy a few times)–but the “Briggs” family is so nice. My thoughts & prayers are with you all.

    Dean was my neighbor. Over the years, we had many interesting conversations while doing yardwork, meeting by the fence, sharing a beverage, or sitting around a bonfire.

    Needless to say, Dean had a zest for life. He enjoyed being surrounded by people, as was evident by the many friends who came to his home. He definitely liked to have fun!

    Dean was a great guy and a good neighbor. I will miss my backyard talks with him.
