Deborah Ann Jacobson Kukert

deborah ann jacobson kukert
Deborah (Debbie) Ann Kukert joined God in heaven September 2, 2013 at St. Alexis Hospital in Bismarck, ND. Debbie was born August 21, 1968 in Orange County, CA. to Neal and Judith Jacobson. Debbie grew up in Fargo, ND and attended school at Holy Spirit Elementary and Shanley High School, graduating in 1986. She continued through life marrying Christopher Ricca and they raised two precious daughters, Christina Ashley (March 1, 1992) and Alexandra Nicole (December 2, 1993). Debbie met the love of her life, Wesley A. Kukert and they were joined together on November 27, 2010. Debbie loved her sports. She participated and excelled in both swimming and track and later in life played volleyball, a passion she truly loved. She enjoyed watching football and was a true Bison fan as well as the only known fan of the New York Jets (ok, maybe not the only one). She loved watching her girls in all of their activities. The Harley Davidson name became part of her life as she and Wes became a couple. Education was also an important part of her life as she was attending Bismarck State College, studying to become a social worker, at the time of her death. This path became evident to her through her membership in Narcotics Anonymous. Debbie's services to the fellowship will be missed. Debbie had many jobs throughout her life, but at the end she found a job she truly loved as a travel agent at Serco in Fargo, ND. Debbie's memories will be lived through her husband Wesley A. Kukert; daughters Christina Ricca and Alexandra (Matthew Gustafson) Ricca and her grandson Emmitt; step-children Kari Jacobs (children Alexis, Lyric, and Levi), Eric Kukert (children Jesslin and Zeller), and Nicholas Kukert; her parents Neal and Judy Jacobson; siblings Stephen (Lori) Jacobson, Kathryn (Curtis) Van Dyke, Laura (Jason) Boehler, Amy (Doug) Jacobson-Hay, Jennifer (Jeremy) Curtis, Julie (Eric) Long, and Michael (Erin) Jacobson. Debbie will also be remembered by her grandmas Frances Jacobson and Ione Brodigan, her in-laws, many neices and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Debbie was preceded in death by her sister Jodi, her grandpas Vernon Jacobson and James Brodigan, and her uncle Jim Brodigan.

. Debbie worked for me three years ago before she moved to Fargo and just recently while she was back in Bismarck temporarily. What a wonderful lady and great employee. Last Saturday she and I had a great conversation while she was showing me pictures of her grandson whom she spoke about often. She will be missed tremendously by all of us here at the hotel. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of her family.
Cherish all of the memories as I am sure you have thousands.

    Wes and Family,
Deb was a good friend of my daughter, Lisa and spent a good amount of time at our house. My Dad (Deb called him her step-grandpa), absolutely adored her. He always called her Big Deb because she was taller than Lisa. He carried her graduation picture in his wallet until he died in 1998. I believe Lisa shared that picture with the family last evening.
Deb always had a smile on her face and was so outgoing. My husband Bob and I loved this sweet girl. I’m sure Bob and step-grandpa George were there to welcome her to her new Home. May God’s loving arms embrace all of you during this difficult time and in the days to come. God bless and always keep the memories near. God bless.

Debbie was genuine. She didn’t put an airs…instead she filled the room with her beautiful bright smile and made her family the center of her life. She lit up whenever talking about sports….especially playing sand volleyball this summer…..her leg injury early in the season sidelined her but she became the teams biggest cheerleader… She was a gem and will be dearly missed
