DeLores Pauline Knaus, Fargo, died Friday, April 8, 2005, at home surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
DeLores Remmick was born on February 22, 1940, in Streeter, ND, to Louis and Elizabeth (Kubler) Remmick. After schooling in Streeter, she started working at a young age in Grand Forks, ND, in housekeeping. She then worked at Norby?s Department Store in Grand Forks for a short time. She married Abraham S. Knaus on June 23, 1959, in Warsaw, ND. She owned the SunSpot Suntanning Salon in Grand Forks, ND, for a number of years. She moved to Fargo, ND, in 1994 and worked at Eventide until starting work at NDSU Dining Services. She was there for 5 years and retired in February of 2003.
She treasured time spent with family and friends. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed many hobbies including sewing and crafts.
She is survived by her children, Lynn Gutzmann (David) of Portland, OR, Jill Uhlir (Todd) of Minto, ND, Jann Thompson (Daniel) of Adams, ND, and Jered Knaus (Rebecca) of Fargo, ND; her grandchildren, Holly Carris (Ryan) Portland, Ore., Adam Knaus, Grand Forks, ND, Heidee Hoks, Grand Forks, ND, Michelle Knaus-Soderquist, Grand Forks, ND; and her siblings, Elroy Remmick (Avis) of Kindred, ND, Charlotte Lacher (David) of West Fargo, ND, Debra Remmick (Norris Welch) of Las Vegas, NV, and Sheila Buchholz (Bobby) of Fargo, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Andrew Gutzmann.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Visitation will be held in Boulger Funeral Home one hour prior to services.
