Delores Harriet Lemm, age 100, entered eternal life on June 15, 2019 at the Sanford Hillsboro Care Center. Delores was born March 13, 1919 on a farm near Lawton, ND to Fred and Olive (McNamee) Downs. She graduated from The Sacred Heart Academy in Fargo in 1937. Delores married Joseph Everett Lemm on May 17, 1943 in the Westover Air Field Base Chapel in Massachusetts. After the war Delores and Everett owned and operated the Viking Hotel and Café in Hillsboro, ND. They later moved to Whittier, California and worked in real estate. Everett passed away on December 9, 1968. Delores had a 35 year career at Apperson Business Forms. She began as a bookkeeper and was later promoted to credit manager. She retired at 72. After retiring she moved to Salem, Oregon and in 2012 to Fargo, North Dakota. In 2016 she moved to Hillsboro, North Dakota. Delores was an outgoing and gregarious person who was dearly loved by her family and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Everett, her parents Fred and Olive Downs, her sister Winnifred Willison, and her brother Daniel Downs. She is survived by 6 nieces and nephews and several cousins. The Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Delores’s life will be on Thursday, June 20 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hillsboro, ND. The Rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. followed by the visitation before mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hillsboro Care Center for the excellent care she received while she lived there. They request memorials are made to St. Rose of Lima Church or The Sanford Hillsboro Care Center.
