Dennis Maier passed away at his home in Fargo on May 25, 2012.
Dennis Maier was born on March 10, 1949 in Mobridge, South Dakota. He came to Fargo as a young boy, attended Fargo schools and graduated from Fargo North in 1967. Dennis entered the Army in 1969, served in Korea, and was discharged from the army in 1970. Dennis returned to Fargo and worked for Dakota Flooring before joining the US Postal Service in 1984. He has worked with the US Post Office since then. Dennis loved bowling, following the Chicago Cubs, and John Wayne movies.
He is survived by his children: RaeAnn (Jeff) Berg, Baker, Mn, Melissa Maier, and Cori (Joel Booth) Maier, Fargo; his sister, Mary Maier (Gary) Blixt, Casselton, ND; his grandchildren, Sally and Molly Berg, Carter Maier, and Zoe Booth. His nieces and nephews: Cindy Voss, Scott Blixt, Becky Siverson, Chris Blixt, Dalane Faultersack, DeAnn Jamison, Dennis Charles and Duane Charles. He was preceded in death by his sister, JoAnn Charles, his parents, John Maier and Martha Maier Weidner.

Saint Cloud MnI met Dennis when we got drafted into the army. We went to basic training and were in the same barracks. We were best buddies for eight weeks. He helped keep my spirits up through it all.

Moorhead MnI was very sad to hear about the death of Dennis. I will miss seeing his smiling face at work. I will miss his laughter and miss joking around with him at work. I will miss him. The news of Dennis passing was shock. I have been friends wifh him for 30 plus years. We loved to talk music, dance and play board games. His love of John Wayne movies always gave me a chuckle. The first time I met him I liked him. He never made fun of mee or others. He will be missed. Take care to all who knew and loved him.
