Derroll Cysewski

Derroll H. Cysewski, 86, Fargo, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Rosewood on Broadway.
Derroll was born December 12, 1925 in Courtney, North Dakota to Henry and Louise (LaMotte) Cysewski. He grew up in Jamestown and attended school there, graduating from Jamestown High School in 1944. He enlisted in the Navy prior to graduating high school. Derroll served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during WWII and was discharged from the Navy in 1946. Derroll attended NDSU for 2 years studying business administration. He belonged to Theta Chi. He then worked for Dakota Plate Glass Company as a salesman and advanced to wholesale division sales manager from 1963-1970. Derroll was co-owner of the Paint Supply Store in Fargo. In 1970 Derroll began work at the Colony Paint Company as a district manager. He worked there until 1988 when he retired.
Derroll enjoyed hunting, fishing with his 2 sons and traveling with his wife, Delores.
He is survived by his wife, Delores “Dot”, Fargo; children, Steven (Anita), Bismarck, Dale, Fargo; grandchildren, Kyle and Katrina.
Derroll was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Louis and sister, Lois Foster.

Tyler TexasAll the memories I have of Derroll while living two blocks away and growing up with Steve and Dale. I remember,
Enjoying Christmas Eve at the Cysewski’s home with the entire room being full of presents
Learning to hunt with Derroll’s help and advice and remembering his concern that the animals not suffer needlessly
Traveling with Derroll as a boy while he called on various paint customers and being amazed about how much he knew and cared about them
Learning from Derroll about how to work on my cars as a teenager
Using Derroll’s membership to get into the Elks annual Teen Dance
Intoducting Dot and Derroll to my future wife Mary and remembering how welcome they made her feel
Hearing how Derroll laughed when as newlyweds we told them how we had split the wooden siderail on the used bed they had given us
And most of all always being welcome into their home.
Derroll we will miss you.
