Donald (Don) Victor Skoog, age 81, Fargo, ND, member of Hope Lutheran Church went to be with our Lord on Saturday January 9th, 2010. His wife Petey was with him at Elim Care Center when the Lord called him home. Don was born on July 5th, 1928 in Minneapolis. His parents are Laura and Victor Skoog. Don attended school at Patrick Henry High in Minneapolis. He went to college at Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter Minnesota. He served his country by entering the National Guard and is a Korean war vet. Don married Pat Favor on November 11th, 1949, three children were of this union. April 24th 1952 he wed Shirley Knipple. The Lord called her to be with Him April of 1992. Thereafter he married Constance (Petey) Nelson on January 9th, 1994. Don was a long time representative of Folger Adam Company as a Certified Protection Professional. He was also a chairman at the Cass-Clay Security Society and a member of the Minnesota Sheriffs Association. In 1986 Don was appointed, by the Governor, to the office of Private Investigative and Security Board. Don is survived by his loving wife Petey. His children, Karen - John Troyer, Dianne Hill, and John Skoog - Vicki, and his wife’s children, Gary Nelson - Sherry, Steve Nelson - Andria, Tim Nelson - Betsy, and Connie Nelson. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and his sister Ruby Bolster. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law John Hill. A funeral service for Don will be held on Tuesday, January 12th, at Elim Care Center, with visitation at 11:30 and service at 12:30. The interment following at Riverside.
