Donna M. Jemtrud, 64 of Fargo, died Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Palliative Care Unit of Sanford Health, Fargo.

Donna M. McDonald was born on December 11, 1945 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Donald and Louise (Bell) McDonald.  She grew up in Sabin, MN and attended high school in Moorhead.  She traveled with the family to Leola, South Dakota during the summers where she met and married Stanley Hoffman on January 14, 1965. She was a stay at home mom in Aberdeen, SD and was a devoted Mom attending all her kid's activities.  She was a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout leader. She was a true neighborhood mom, always making everyone feel welcome.   They lived in the Aberdeen area before Donna moved to Fargo in 1987.  She worked in Fargo as a caregiver in nursing homes and in private homes and also operated a home day care.  Donna married Lloyd Jemtrud on August 29, 1998 in Fargo.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed time at the lake fishing, gardening and her pets.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jackie Dankert.

Donna is survived by her husband, Lloyd of Fargo; son, Lynn Hoffman of Fargo; daughter, Shelly (Scott) Lane of Sioux Falls, SD; son, Mike Hoffman of Fargo; 3 adopted grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley and Zach Hoffman; grandchildren, Haleigh, Hannah and Hope Lane, Michael and Cassie Hoffman; sisters, Jeanette (Rueben) Glaesman of Cormorant, MN, Karen (Dennis) Rasmussen of Dilworth, MN; brothers, Jim (Keri) McDonald of Fargo, Gary (Deb) McDonald of West Fargo; sister, Terri Larson of Detroit Lakes, MN; brother, Dave (Beth) McDonald of Pelican Rapids, MN and many nieces and nephews.

    My Husband and I knew Donna from working with her at Leef Cleaners a few years back, She was a very up beat person, fun to be around and a great laugh. I also seen her a couple of years back when the family was in for pictures for their church directory. I could tell then that one of her greatest joys then was her grandkids.
