Obituary

Dorothy L. Martell, 92, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Rosewood on Broadway.

Dorothy was born November 16, 1914 in Moorhead, MN to Glenn and Emeline (Hamilton) Martell. She grew up in Moorhead where she graduated from Moorhead High School. She married Walter T. Nowak on November 11, 1940 in Dubuque, Iowa. She worked at the County Hospital in Fargo for 6 years before accepting a position at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fargo where she served as a nurse over 25 years, retiring in 1988.

Dorothy was a resident at University Manor until entering Rosewood on Broadway in May 2005.

She was a member of St. Mary?s Cathedral. She was also a member of St. Ann?s Catholic Daughters, member and past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Post 762, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a volunteer in the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program where she served at Hector Airport for 10 years as a hostess/information volunteer.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Walter ad her parents Glenn and Emeline Martell.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Mary?s Cathedral for mass intentions.

She is survived by two sons, Terry (Linda) Nowak of Pensacola, Florida and Timothy (Pam) Nowak of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 5 grandchildren, Shawn Nowak, Dawn McCarty, Ilka Mora, Danika Faz, and Katrina Nowak; and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her extended family Roger and Joan Schraufek, Fargo.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2007 ? Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo

Prayer Service: 6:30 p.m. rosary followed by a prayer service, Friday, January 5, 2007 ? Boulger Funeral Home

Funeral: 10 A.M. – . Saturday, January 6, 2007 ? St. Mary?s Cathedral, Fargo
