Douglas (Doug) Toliver

Douglas (Doug) W. Toliver, 63, Fargo, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at his home of natural causes.
Doug was born to Warren (Bud) Toliver and Dorothy (Dot) (Bailly) Toliver on August 5, 1952 in Moorhead, Minnesota. He grew up in Fargo, attended schools here and graduate from Shanley High School in 1970. Doug attended NDSU and graduated with a degree in Physical Education. He began his restaurant career at the Old Broadway where he became manager. He then opened and managed Restaurants around the U.S. Doug lived for sports. He loved basketball and golf. Doug retired last spring.
He is survived by his children, Derek James (Ashley) Toliver, Dallas, TX, Andrew Robert (Lauren) Toliver, Dallas, TX, and Kristin Elizabeth (Garett) Fralix, San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Ethan Connell, Robert Toliver, and Eden Toliver; sisters, Cindy Egge, Moorhead and Mary Kay Johncock, Bainbridge, WA; nieces, Jen, Chandra, Amanda, and Rachel.
There will be a Prayer Service at St. Mary’s Cathedral at 7:00 p.m. Friday with visitation in the church from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be at St. Mary’s at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

We are so sorry to hear of your sudden loss! I remember, as a youngster, the mischief that Doug would “lead us into”. There was a time in Walhalla that he either got hit in the face by a golf club, or he did the swinging, and hit my brother John. Just a lot of fun whenever we got together! We will miss you Doug!

So sad to hear of Doug’s death. He was way to young. I know my brother,Jim, and he were good friends. Being a Shanley graduate myself I knew Doug. It is so hard to loose one’s friends so young. I will keep Doug’s family in my prayers.

When I saw you Monday at the Y I was so taken by your statement that you had been praying for me and my fight with my health issues. You were always a good friend and I will miss your since of humor and the great memories we had playing softball with you and Ray.
