Duane Ronald French age 79, formally of Grafton, ND, passed peacefully on March 31, 2012 at Bethany on 42nd Retirement Living Homes in Fargo, ND.

 

Duane French was born October 6, 1932, attended Grafton High School and served in the US army. In 1953 moved to Minneapolis, MN and worked at Clark Oil and Ensign Electric Company. In 1962 Duane moved back to Grafton, ND and founded French Welding Inc. and later D & B Supply. In 1974 was named North Dakota Small Business Person of the Year.

 

Duane was preceded in death by Bernice French, parents, Damas and Jeanette (Sabourin); sister, Shirley Van Camp, and brother Ordean.

 

He is survived by children, Gary, Dave (Cindy), Greg (Kim) and Lori (Tom); grandchildren, Tina, Travis, Jason, Chad (Libby), Jacob (Mary) Woinarowicz, kala (Danny) Robinson, Jessica, Brian, Jamie, Thomas and Monique; great-grandchildren, Amelia, LaNeah, Halle, Cayden, Harper, Addison,Tyler, Zachary, Gunner, Olivia, and Lacey; siblings, Beverly Garster, Wes (Pat), Jan Loos, Darryl; numerous nieces and nephews.

  1. Our sincere sympathy in the loss of your dad. He was a great guy and really enjoyed visiting with him when he would come to Hansons.
