Obituary

Duane D. Goodwin, 80, Fargo, ND passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the North Dakota Veterans Administration Hospital in Fargo.  He was born on March 21, 1934 in Fargo to Dewey S. and Olga Christine (Lavick) Goodwin.  Duane entered the United States Army in December of 1953 and served in Korea until December 1956. 

Duane was united in marriage to Judy Olson in 1958 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Moorhead.  The couple resided in Fargo since then, where they raised their five children.  Duane worked for 12 years at the Union Stockyards in West Fargo, 3 years at Riverside Cemetery, 3 years at Concrete Sectional Culvert Company, a year at Bowers Roofing Company, and 2 years at Creeds Construction Company.

In his spare time, Duane enjoyed listening to country music and watching television shows, especially westerns.  He and Judy also liked to attend the air show, and in their younger years, spent a lot of time on the dance floor.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy; children, Barbara, Margaret, Darlene (Chuck) Suppa, Duane B.; Donna Behrens; and 2 grandchildren; three brothers, Douglas (Marcia); Clifford (Harriet); and Michael (Linda); and one sister, Doris (Walton).

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
