Obituary

Dwight Dennis Olsby of Fargo passed away Sunday April 10, 2011 of natural causes  at Sanford hospital, at the age of 53.

Dwight was born on December 11, 1957 in Fargo ND to Charles and Lorraine Olsby. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo South. After graduating he began to work for  Northern Plains Steel where he worked for 32 years. On September 8, 1984 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Nancy Fischer. To this union two children  Jenny and Nate were born. Later in life Dwight was blessed to become a father once again to Kyle Nelson. After retiring from Northern Plains Steel Dwight spent his time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and a heart of gold, and was a big fan of Elvis Presley. He was an active person who loved the outdoors. Dwight loved spending time with his children especially attending their various sporting events. Above all he was a selfless person who thought of others first and would help anyone in any way he could.

Dwight is survived by his mother Lorraine Martin of Fargo; Children: Jenny (Kyle) Wegener of Fargo, Nate Olsby of Fargo, Kyle Nelson of MN; Siblings: Mark Olsby and partner Linda Bucholz of Morton, ND; Jim Kaulbach and partner K Hill of CO, Julie Kollar (Martin) of Fargo, Bob (Cindy) Martin of Fargo; grandchildren: Sydney Kringstad, Bria, Ava, and Brock Wegener; Nieces & Nephews: Kristy, Eric, Carly, Abby, Emmy, Luke & Zak; and many Uncles, Aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Charles; grandparents Jake & Regina Blotsky; Myrtle & Adolph Olsby and cousin Kevin Blotsky.

Wish this was me, “talking” to you like we use to, so many times, and not so long ago. I think about your family Dwight, Lorraine, your brothers and Jule, Nate, Jenny, Kyle, Michael, Matthew and Carissa-and those beautiful grand babies. You are in each and everyone of us, yet you are in each and everyone of SO many people. You touched the lives of everyone you knew. Whether it was within a minute, or years. You have touched my life in ways no one will never fully understand, nor do I expect them to. What we had was between us, and it IS beautiful. I love you today as much as I did way back when. I’m sorry for ever hurting you, and I know you are too- it hasn’t mattered in a long time. What does matter, is YOU – being at peace and FINALLY realizing just how important you are- and always will be. I had to do what I had to do, and so did you. No regrets, just missing you with everything in me. Have for so long, and wishing things could have been different- but now, I know… things happen for a reason. I love you Dwight. I always have, always will…. Until we meet again. Love, “Your Girl”
    ~Kayla

    Jenny,
I am so sorry to hear about your father’s passing. Lean on your loved ones and surround yourself with happy memories during this difficult time. I pray that you are able to find moments of comfort and peace.

    Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
